One of the most common things that comes up with horror fans is how early they were introduced to the genre, and frequently by something many non horror adults would think is “WAY TOO EARLY”. For me, it was a combination of Nightmare On Elm Street playing with no one in the room as I walked in combined with a too realistic Freddy Krueger at a Halloween event that both terrified and entranced me.
At Cthulhu Junior Studios, we are taking the mentality of all of those 80’s/90’s cartoons based on properties kids weren’t supposed to see (looking at you Swamp Thing, Toxic Crusaders, Robocop…) and making “horror” fun and accessible for monster fans of all ages.
A lighter side to an elder being…
A few years ago we started brainstorming ideas for a project. We weren’t out to make anything huge, but just something fun, interesting, and a way to make something creative. Over time we have toyed with different ways to implement some of our ideas into the games that defined our youth. This site is a place for everyone to see the work that we are doing, talk about our thoughts on the horror genre (or anything else that feels relevant at the time), and hopefully put a playful spin on the monsters we love.
